My New Bike – 1980′s Miyata 310 8

My New Miyata 310

My New Miyata 310

After a day with my mom in New York City I decided to go look at some options for a new bike. I was looking for a used road bike, maybe touring bike in good condition that would fit me reasonably well and not break that bank. I came back with a 1980′s Miyata 310.

At the moment I don’t know too much about the bike so I’m just going to post a few pictures and next week I’ll have some more information and more pictures I’m trying to find out exactly what year it may be so I can find out more about it’s specs. One way or the other, we’ll be taking our first ride together tomorrow morning to work in the cold. I’ll let you know how it all goes!

Congrats on your new ride. I checked out a Miyata, I think, when I was shopping for my bike. However, I like a bit of a slant on my top tube.

My oldest bike is similar – a 1978 Univega road bike. I hope your new Miyata is as sweet a ride as my Univega – light, nimble and fast.

That’s sounds like an awesome bike, I’m definitely in love with my Miyata so far. I found out its a 1980, made in May. It’s faster and lighter than my other bike which I really like. It’s only 10 speed which is a big difference from my 24 speed Cannondale, but I like it. I’m posting up a bunch of new pictures and information on Thursday so you can see you can check out a bit more. Thanks for coming by and commenting!

Hey Annie, yeah I do thanks for posting it! After I wrote this post, I found out a lot more about the bike, checked out that website, and a few others for some information. It’s a 1980 exactly–in fact it was manufactured in May also.

Thanks for the help, miyatacatalogs.com is a really great resource for the vintage Miyata owner.
